Traditional primary care often feels rushed. Most physicians care for thousands of patients and are paid based on volume and insurance billing, not the quality of care. At Hershey Primary Care, we do things differently.
Led by Lauren Doliner, MD, our direct primary care membership-based model allows for a dramatically smaller patient panel. This means more time with your doctor, easier access to appointments, and direct communication by phone, email, or text. You always see your physician, not a rotating provider.
What Is a Membership Model (Direct Primary Care)?
Instead of copays and surprise bills, patients pay a predictable monthly fee that covers a wide range of primary care services, including preventive care, acute visits, chronic disease management, lifestyle medicine, and telehealth when appropriate. Some in-office services, such as EKGs, are included when medically indicated.
Care That Focuses on Prevention
Hershey Primary Care emphasizes proactive, preventive care and patient education. This approach benefits everyone, from healthy individuals who want to stay well to patients managing chronic conditions who need close follow-up and coordination of care.
Lifestyle medicine is a core part of the practice, addressing nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress, and other factors that play a major role in preventing and treating chronic disease.
Insurance, Medicare, and Privacy
While insurance is not used for membership fees, patients may continue to use their insurance for care outside the practice, including specialist visits, imaging, hospitalizations, and medications. Medicare patients are welcome, though the practice does not bill Medicare for primary care services.
Your medical information is kept in an independent electronic health record that is accessible only to Dr. Doliner, not employees at the surrounding major health systems, ensuring your privacy.
