November 1: Celebrating the First National Direct Primary Care Day

November 1, 2025 marks the very first National Direct Primary Care (DPC) Day – a celebration of a healthcare model that puts patients and doctors back on the same team.

Timed to coincide with the start of Open Enrollment, National DPC Day highlights an important message: great primary care doesn’t have to revolve around insurance. In the Direct Primary Care model, patients pay their doctor directly through a simple monthly membership. There are no copays, no deductibles, and no hidden fees, just care.

“DPC Day invites patients and physicians to imagine a healthcare system built on trust, transparency, and choice,” said Dr. Jeff Davenport, President of the DPC Alliance.

The timing is especially meaningful this year. Beginning January 1, 2026, new federal legislation (the OBBBA bill) will allow patients to use Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) to pay for DPC memberships.

Why DPC Day Matters

National DPC Day is more than a date on the calendar—it’s a movement to:

  • Raise awareness about the DPC model
  • Encourage preventive, relationship-based care
  • Strengthen doctor–patient trust
  • Reduce administrative burdens so physicians can focus on what matters most: you

How Hershey Primary Care Fits In

At Hershey Primary Care, we’re proud to be part of this movement. Our practice was founded on the same values that DPC Day celebrates: personalized, transparent, and accessible care. Through our membership-based model, patients can reach their doctor directly by phone, text, or email, schedule visits without long waits, and spend more time focusing on prevention and wellness.

If you’ve ever wished healthcare could feel simpler and more personal, Direct Primary Care is that solution.
